A late breakfast
By the time I went down for breakfast, it was already late. It was nine o’clock, and I felt a bit awkward eating in the cafeteria at that hour. If a leader happened to see me sitting there with breakfast, it would not look great. So I just picked up two steamed rolls and an egg, then took them back to my room.
Once I got back, I casually lit the stove and made some guanguan tea. A bit of goji berry, some red dates, and longan went in, and the tea was basically ready. The only pity was that I had run out of sugar. I’ll have to go to the supermarket later and buy some rock sugar.
Browser trouble with the blog circle
The blog circle page turns into garbled text when opened in Internet Explorer, and I still have no idea why. I usually use Google Chrome, and now it already has cache and data stored, so I don’t dare clear it casually.
I’m not sure how it behaves in other browsers either. This computer is terribly slow, otherwise I would download a few and test them one by one. I’ll go home on the weekend and check what happens on the computer there.
Cleaning up the mobile categories
Today I adjusted the menu display on the mobile version of the blog. I removed the visible category list directly and added pages like links, about, and the message board instead.
The category page is not very useful to me now. Every day I’m mostly posting complaints, little notes, and bits of daily life. Everything has slowly blended together, and there is not much point in trying to separate it anymore.
The Ten-Year Promise site
I noticed that the official site of the Ten-Year Promise could not be opened. It says it is under maintenance, and I’m not sure what happened. Someone in the group said it had been attacked, so that is probably it. Haha.
A tiny site like mine is the kind attackers would probably find too much trouble to bother with, so of course it cannot compare with theirs. The wormhole feature on Ten-Year Promise is really impressive. I would also like the blog circle to have something like that, but my own ability is limited.
I saw that Ruozhi Notes has a “departing to” page in the menu bar, which feels similar to the wormhole, but those things are not open source. Maybe in another couple of years this kind of feature will become common. By then I can just install something ready-made. If I can’t build it myself, I’ll just pick up what others have already made, haha.
Blog We and old blogs
The Blog We page looks quite similar to the Ten-Year Promise page. I saw some blogs that joined in 2019, but now they can no longer be accessed.
I wanted to change the domain listed there, but I could not get in touch with the author. I sent an email too, but nobody responded. I don’t know what happened.
It is a bit of a shame. Those blogs I wrote back then were all records of small moments in daily life, little pieces of data left behind from those years.
